In 2013 Whangarei SPCA Inspectors investigated 900+ complaints of animal cruelty/neglect, 160+ animal emergencies, we had 3,000+ animals brought into our centre (many of these were desexed, vaccinated, microchipped and rehomed). Desexed 900 animals for low income families, 309 people attended our community Drop-in Centre for help/advice. All this is done without funding from local council or government.
