We are super excited for this year's 2016 - 2017 Festival.

We are currently undergoing a massive Williamson Park Redevelopment. The trees have come down, the road will be ripped up this week and the new road layout laid down. Then planting will take place.

It is the talk of the town and it will ensure Williamson Park is one of the coolest beach side venues in the Coromandel.

Whatever you do - don't miss this year's Festival!!

Watch our facebook page for more updates and our upcoming programme!!

We are excited to announce the first concert in our 2015-2016 Festival line up:

    Abbey Road-New Zealand Beatles show!

This is a show that rekindles the memories of the most influential force in modern popular music.

Named after the final album the FAB FOUR recorded together, Abbey Road perform for you a 3 part live show, with costume changes, that is nothing but Beatles all night long!

The first part takes you back to the "Cavern Club" days in Liverpool; black suits and ties, with white shirts and 'mop tops', singing classic songs from the first 3 albums; 'Please Please me', 'With the Beatles', and 'A Hard Days Night'.

The second part introduces their early musical exploration era: black polo neck jerseys with acoustic guitars and keyboards, showing their great variety of musical styles, taken from the next four albums; 'Beatles for Sale', 'Help', 'Rubber Soul' and 'Revolver'.

At last it's time to don the Sgt Pepper costumes for a finale that is all colour and splendor; featuring a musical selection from;'Sgt Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band', 'The White Album', 'Abbey Road' and 'Let it Be'.

The Abbey road NZ Beatles show has been performing together for the past eleven years and have played at numerous venues and festivals - Blues, brews and barbecues, world rowing championships, sky city casino's, numerous workingmen's clubs, masters games in Whanganui, Mills Reef festival, Christchurch air force base, to name but a few! The lastest show also features a selection of Post Beatles songs such as 'Imagine' and 'Band on the run' . In 2014 we had the privilege of performing with Howie Casey, legendary saxophonist for McCartney's band Wings. The show performed at the Vector arena for the Netball 5s in Auckland in 2014.

Another way the Whangamata Summer Festival fundraises is by organising four Annual Markets.

These two are by far the largest. We also do the Beach Hop Nostalgia Fair on the Sunday of the Annual Beach Hop (last week in March) as well as the Pohutukawa Festival Arts & Crafts Market.
