The Whangamata Summer Festival is a not for profit incorporated society whose aim is to provide community events during the festive season.

Providing free concerts, markets and performers gives families and the youth a safe and fun environment over the festive season. The Festival has gone from strength to strength and boasts quality musicians, markets, competitions & events.
Every year the Whangamata Summer Festival reaches an estimated 15,000 people. Mostly families and teenagers.

Having the music in Williamson Park getting everyone together to celebrate the festive season. The Festival has gone from strength to strength and boasts quality musicians.
Use of funds
Funds raised go directly towards event costs: including but not limited to: hiring performers and entertainers, sound & lighting and security contractors.

Markets Announced! 8 November 2017
We are pleased to announce our three market days this year in Whangamata!
These market days raise funds that go directly back into community initiatives such as a free kid's holiday programme, a magician, stilt walkers and music at the markets as well as the Opera in the Park on New Year's Day - a free community concert!
The Summer Festival Committee also sponsors Sound & Lighting for the Whangamata Real Estate Whanga Week (TM) Whangamata Pharmacy Ltd.'s Miss Whangamata on Dec. 29, with donations to the Whangamata Surf Lifesaving Club, Fusion Community Church Group, Whangamata Area School's Annual Talent Quest and Whangamata Infoplus.
