Wharekaka Rest Home in Martinborough is raising funds to assist with our Hospital Level Care in the community

  Wellington Welfare Housing Family Support

Wharekaka Rest Home in Martinborough is a community based not for profit charity with 19 beds and ten independent living villas in the lovely Wairarapa. We have recently received accreditation for Hospital level care which will allow our residents and members of the wider Martinborough community to remain in this wonderful community as their needs change. This will provide a real benefit to the entire community by keeping families together and letting our residents stay where they feel safe near their families and with familiar staff and surroundings, not having to go through the major upheaval of a move to another area.

For Hospital Level Care we need to alter some of our existing facilities, buy specialised equipment and provide 24 hour Registered Nursing care. As we are a community based rest home we really appreciate community involvement and are hoping to raise some of the anticipated $200,000 required through our local and wider community.
