Antara Association

Antara is a charity set up by a group of people who decided that rather than talking about helping others, they would actually just do it. The Free Natural Health clinic is the only one of it's kind in New Zealand, providing natural health care and counseling free of charge.

Antara helps with physical issues: from asthma to arthritis, back pain to stomach pain, skin health to heart health and everything inbetween. As well as mental and emotional issues: from grief to depression, anxiety to anger and everything inbetween.

With 4 busy therapy rooms, the clinic offers counseling, osteopathy, nutrition, massage therapy and homeopathy amoungst others. All therapists and staff offer their time for free, helping people who would not normally be able to afford this level of care.

The Antara retreat was set up a little later. With one of the world's highest suicide rates amoung young adults, New Zealand's young people are clearly in need of support. The retreat was completely built by volunteers and is a beautiful earthbrick homestead set amoungst 22 acres of native bush. It provides a free space for personal growth and wellbeing. Weekend retreats, workshops and long term stays are on offer as well as a space for charities and organisations who help others. Offering a myriad of services from yoga to nutrition, organic gardening to team building, ayurvedic medicine to massage this is an incredible asset to our communities.

All services provided by Antara are free. The charity is based on a philosophy of helping others without expectation. With the belief that giving and kindness is integral to us as human beings.
