Keeping Cats in the Community

Group, Waikato

We are a very small charity with a big mission. We are not a rehoming centre. We trap neuter and return (TNR) colonies of cats and when people find their cat numbers spiralling out of control we help to get the cats to the vet to be speyed. In both above cases we rehome cats whenever possible and remove kittens for rehoming. We just have a few fosterers to help with those that need to be kept safe until a new home has been found. In the case of people unable to care for their cats properly we will help owners keep their pets clean and well groomed, desexed and support a healthy diet. Often the last friend an elderly/housebound person has is their pet. On a low income or due to illness some people unwittingly neglect pets. We want to Help prevent this. So we are about education, reducing pregnancy, supporting people so they can keep their pets, rehoming cats on behalf of the owners or fostering and rehoming. We only support euthanasia when its the only humane option for an injured or sick cat, guided by veterinary advice.

Keeping Cats in the Community is too small to have a dedicated bank account and therefore your donation will be diverted to us through The Gravity Foundation/NZAP Give-a-Little account. However rest assured every cent you donate to Keeping Cats in the Community will be used by Keeping Cats in the Community for all the objectives and aims we have outlined in this Give a Little site.
