‘ASK yourself?’, our team name, was conceived on the side of the road as three mothers watched their children competing in a triathlon in Oamaru. We said to each other ‘we should be doing it too’, then ‘why not?’ So a meeting was called over a coffee and we filled in the entry form for the Wanaka Half Challenge. The hardest part was of course coming up with a name and on discovering that Andrea, Sarah and Karen made the acronym ASK, the ‘ASK yourself?’ team was born.
We are three mums in our forties. We’re sporty and relatively fit, so this was a bit of motivation and a challenge. Two of the mums’ sons also were in a team for the event.
