Climbing Out Of Anxiety

For as long as I can remember I have been haunted by Anxiety. Catastrophizing, irrational thinking to the point of paralysis. This might seem extreme but is the daily debilitating experience for so many New Zealanders. A never ending spiral which at times seems to have no way out.

Did you know that 1 in 4 Kiwis experience Anxiety, Panic Attacks, Obsessive Compulsive Disorders or Phobias?

On the 27th of August 2016 I will be setting out to summit the 4,392 meter peak of Mt Rainier as part of raising awareness for the Anxiety New Zealand Trust.

The Anxiety New Zealand Trust aims to improve the recognition of anxiety disorders in NZ, provide treatment and support to people with anxiety related conditions and their families through the provision of high quality clinical services, the experience of service users, and the dedication of support and volunteer staff. The Trust will advocate for funding and support research into the determinants and treatment of anxiety disorders.
