Save Chamberlain Park Inc was established to stop the costly and senseless redevelopment of Chamberlain Park Golf Course - aka the Masterplan.
After a costly but successful legal challenge to stop the bulldozers and tree fellers from destroying Chamberlain Park over a year ago, we are now are focusing on the upcoming elections. Another fighting fund is required!
The Local Board have just voted to proceed with the entire $30 million master plan (equivalent to a 2% rate increase).
With a collaborative effort we can unseat the candidates that voted to replace grass and trees with artificial surfaces, car parks and roads. The flawed masterplan can be stopped if the candidates who support Save Chamberlain Park become the majority.
We’re aiming to raise $30,000 which will fund pamphlets, posters, bill boards, distribution costs, etc.
We believe losing a large section of Chamberlain Park is a potential ecological tragedy and an injustice to future Aucklanders. Once this green space is gone, it can never be replaced.
