Jenni is a kiwi woman born under Mount Taranaki and is the leader and driving force behind The Get Shit Done Team, however, she can't help refugees in Greece alone. Jenni works with amazing and wonderful independent volunteers and larger organisations to get immediate care where it's needed.
The team started with a mobile workshop to build sun shades, drainage, flood prevention, community spaces in refugee camps in Northern Greece.
They also support food distribution, clothing and other items to make refugees' lives better. With the help of volunteers they've created temporary stoves made from car rims, flooring for the tents and bikes which increase mobility.
Now that the borders are closed in Northern Greece the majority of refugees are stuck and waiting for asylum to other countries. This can take many months or even years, so it's important that we help these vulnerable people while they're in limbo.
