Hi I'm Elijah, I was born with Prune Belly Syndrome and suffered ischemic insult injury some time in the neonatal period. I was born in renal failure with grade 5 reflux. I have LUTO which prevents me from passing a normal stream of urine and at 4 days old my bladder began draining through my belly button, this normally transforms into a solid cord at birth. Mine did not and for 6 months this was my only method of emptying my bladder. Then one day it blocked. After that I have suffered periods of up to 7 days unable to pass urine and this strain caused one of my kidneys to fail. I suffer UTI's. To date I have not been offered any surgery to repair any of my urinary problems and now with the help of my Mum and the wonderful support networks overseas I am hoping to beat the odds and not be one of the statistics! I have found a urologist who might be able to help me and now I need to raise money to travel and see him and have all the tests and treatment I need.
