My passion for sport started at primary school being selected and competing at various Canterbury Championships for sports such as athletics, cross country running, duathlon, swimming, triathlon and mountain biking. I achieved several top five finishes, including a Canterbury school's duathlon, and mountain biking title in 2017. At age 7, I competed in Ice speed skating Nationally and represented NZ Internationally at the Oceania champs in 2015 and 2016 held in Australia winning two Oceania championships. Ice speed skating gave me a good foundation for cycling as it requires discipline, skill and involves similar muscle groups.
At age 11, I competed in Track Cycling and since them my dream is to compete at the 2024 Olympics in Paris. In 2020 I was selected by Cycling New Zealand to represent New Zealand at both the Junior Worlds Track Cycling in Cairo and Junior Worlds Road Cycling Belgium. Due to Covid and financial restraints, I was unable to attend these events.
This year I will have a chance to compete on the world stage for the Junior Track Worlds in Israel and Junior Road Worlds in Australia. Beyond that I want to travel overseas for Elite Track Championships and World Cups, and of course my big goal the 2024 Paris Olympics.
