This group is to raise money to send Lizzie and Ataruru to Cook Islands for a leadership programme in October. These I-Kiribati girls, who are still students at Pukekohe High School, are future leaders focused on health and climate change. Can you help them get to the Pacific Student Leaders Programme?

Lizzie Tiite is currently in year 12 and Ataruru Otia is in year 13. Both have been invited to participate in the Pacific Student Leaders Programme taking place in Cook Islands in October. Unfortunately, it will cost $3950 EACH and they have to pay by 5th August 2022. We don't have much time to raise the funds to send them. The details are here: https://www.flacademy.com/pslp-cook-islands

Being in Year 13, and needing to focus on her schooling so she can get the qualifications she needs to go onto a Bachelors of Midwifery course next year, means Ataruru cannot really work too many additional hours. Lizzie has been working recently in a local restaurant to save up but this is now starting to interfere with her schoolwork. She cannot work any more extra hours. Basically, they need your help to get there.

They have families in Kiribati who are also experiencing the full impacts of climate change.

This is a fantastic opportunity for the girls to represent their I-Kiribati community in NZ, and our local community in South Auckland, in an international Pacific Leaders Programme. These passionate young women and their families are working hard, so this opportunity would be a perfect way of developing these young Pacific female leaders.

Please donate. Every little helps.

Ko rabwa and many thanks.

Ataruru, Lizzie and Carol
