Heather Milne

I'm a freelance photographer who explores the impacts of change in social structures and environments. I draw on observations and experiences of trauma, recovery, and transformation to create photographs that document change and shared community experiences. Over the past six years, my work has included themes such as natural disasters, art accessibility, urban decay, and public grief. In 2023, I started volunteering as a photographer with Taskforce Kiwi, documenting recovery and relief work following natural disasters in New Zealand and overseas. So far this work has taken me to Hawke's Bay, Nova Scotia, and Queensland.
