Well have recently started a organization called kai for kids were we provide 1200 lunches to the Porirua kids INCLUDING 12 schools. there is less attendance on a Monday and Tuesday due to the fact that parents wont send there kids to school if they have no food. our aim is to lift these attendance rate and that no child go to schools hungry. at the moment this has been funded by my husband and a couple of small local business, we now are asking for help for our own family support so we can continue to do kai for kids. No child should go hungry, if we feed these kids and give them something to look forward to at school they will want to be there we are preventing poverty and helping educate our future doctors and lawyers and police officers. in helping feed these children we are helping prevent Rheumatic fever . and in Porirua we have a high rate of Rheumatic fever in our community and being malnourished is a contributing fact to this .the funds will help my self and our family to continue to do what we can for kai for kids full time... and will help our family as we poor everything into kai for kids and my wife having to leave her job.
