Individual, Nationwide

I have been rowing since joining the Counties Manukau Rowing club in 2007. After my novice season I was hooked. I have been to three NZ secondary school Maadi cups. Maadi is an iconic sporting occasion in NZ with over 2000 athletes and 120 Secondary schools represented.

My ultimate goal for my rowing career is to row for NZ and to be selected for the elite team to compete at the Olympics in Rio in 2016. Obviously I have a few stepping stones, the first was being selected for NZ juniors of which I achieved. Next was selection into the under 23 squad, of which I have achieved. Each year I have set goals which are all part of the bigger picture. My goals for the next two years are:

? To win the women’s under 23 four in Italy

? To be selected into the rowing New Zealand summer squad for 2014/2015

? To be selected for the elite squad for 2014/2015 summer

Working to fund my trip is difficult, with my tight training schedule; I have moved to Karapiro to start my training in preparation for the under 23 world rowing champs.
