Taenga has been growing his hair since he was born originally for a traditional Cook Island hair cutting ritual.
As a family we have decided to cut Taengas hair before he turns 5 in October, so he can start school fresh and faded.
Because his hair is so beautiful we are going to have it made into a wig (through Freedom Hair) for a child that suffers from hair loss due to illness.
Taenga was inspired to do this when he learnt about his friends mum who had breast cancer.
We have started this give-a-little page to raise money for Heart Kids NZ in honour of our girl Tehani that passed away from a heart disease in 2014.
Although we will not be hosting an elaborate celebration for Taengas first hair cut we feel this is an appropriate way to do things for us and will be just as special.
By donating to Taenga's Fro, you will be helping Heart kids NZ provide services for families of kids with sick hearts, just as they helped us when our girl was sick.
Taenga won't be cutting his hair until October :)
