I am competing in the 3 day event of Ultraman Australia to raise funds for the families of the Fallen and those survivors suffering through being Injured, Wounded or with Illness from the New Zealand Defence Force. This is not just through Operational Service overseas but also through training accidents and the like in New Zealand.
It is about providing funds for the families of the fallen to get together to share their grief and their journey, to help the children left behind and help the survivors attend events such as the Invictus Games, which is the military version of the Paralympics, with being able to finance resources for them.
This year I have completed 33 years of service in the New Zealand Army, this year I turn 50, this year I complete my 5th full distance Ironman and this year I find the gruelling Ultraman to fundraise for this cause with the blessing of the New Zealand Defence Force and Ultraman Australia.
Ultraman Australia event (14-16 May 16) is:
Day 1 = 10 km Swim, 140 Km Cycle.
Day 2 = 281 Km Cycle.
Day 3 = Double Marathon.
