I live in Christchurch, NZ. Since 2002 Romchild has been the name I’ve used for various fundraising activities to support the work of Everyone’s Child Romania; a UK registered, Romanian based charity which has been working since 2000 to support poor families with HIV infected children.
ECR aims to provide independence and sense of self-worth for the survivors who are healthy enough to work & to offer holistic health care to those who can't.
My connection with Paul Davies and subsequently Everyone's Child Romania had its beginnings in 1997 when I first went to Romania to work as a volunteer.
During the 3 months I spent working at a hospice for children with HIV I met and got to know Paul. At this time he was still living in Wales but would drive out each summer holiday from Wales to deliver donated goods and work with the children in the hospice.
We became best of friends and have kept in touch since. Not long after our first meeting Paul moved to Romania and eventually started his own work with Everyone’s Child Romania.
