Everyone loves to see a smile on a child's face, a much needed new playground would definately do that for the Tamariki at Horomako Kohanga

Hi there, We here at Te Kohanga Reo O Te Horomako o te Huruhuru are trying to come up with enough funds so that we are able to build a much needed playground for all of our tamariki (children) to enjoy when they come to kohanga.

Kohanga is a place for our young children to come and be totally immersed in Te Reo Maori, it is a place where Whanau (family) can be fully involved and a part of their child's start to life.

Unfortunately for our tamariki our recent playground had to be removed as it did not meet safety standards. We have been successful in raising enough funds for new foundations - which included putting in a bike track, a sandpit, a concreted area, and a barked area (for the playground) and now we have the task of raising enough funds for the playground equipment.

Most recently our fundraising activities have included a Quiz Night, Raffles, Running a Kitchen and our Tamariki all participated in a Bike-a-thon.

We have faith that with a lot of hard work and support that we can make this happen for our Tamariki and Whanau!
