Help raise funds to get a guitar for an up and coming young New Zealander with a passion for music.
Nelson / Tasman
ABOUT ME:
Hi I'm Lachlan. I'm 14 years old and live in Motueka. I am pretty much a self taught musician and am lucky to have the natural ability to pick up most instruments. I can play the guitar, the drums, piano/keyboard, bass guitar, ukulele, I like to sing, and I could probably even play the triangle if I tried.
In a nutshell, I’m mental about music, and I’m pretty good at it too.
Jon Toogood the frontman (lead vocals and guitarist) for the New Zealand rock band Shihad recently spent only a short time with me and then went to my music teacher and said "this kid is going to be the man".
MY GOAL:
I’ve found my dream guitar, a Gretsch G5655T, that will last me for years to come, and I need your help to pay for it. And that’s where you come in.
I will be putting in my pocket money ($20 a week), will be busking, I worked during the school holidays for pay, have applied for an after school job and have asked my family for donations for my next birthday to help raise the funds for this guitar.

MY BACKGROUND:
My love of music started at a young age - as a toddler I loved to air guitar and dance. I got a ukulele when I was five, my Dad started to teach me how to play guitar when I was seven on a guitar that had been in my family for three generations, and for my eighth birthday I got my first guitar.
I have mostly played rock and blues but I am now starting to explore other types of music and this year I have been learning to play Jazz guitar and I'm learning music theory at school. The Gretsch that I have found suits a variety of styles and would help me to enhance my playing.
