The opportunity is here for New Zealand's kids and families to experience the benefits of learning music, no matter where they live.
Auckland
Hi, my name is Anna-Marie Alloway and I have designed and almost completed a purpose built music studio on wheels. Once completed 'The Little Cello Box' will provide a unique musical environment which is easily accessible to communities Nation wide, as The Little Cello Box is mobile!
Vision: Delivering music lessons to communities across New Zealand, where children can experience personal development through the form of music.
Like any building project we went over budget! Please help 'The Little Cello Box' cross the finish line and embark on its adventure to inspire the Nations children!
The Little Cello Box and me are so very nearly there. Any donation would be very greatly appreciated so that we can get on the road and achieve our deadline of term 2, 2015.
Please Pledge :-)
"Anna-Marie's lessons provided us with a gentle but secure musical foundation in Cello for our son. We recommend her warmly, immediately, and often, to all families contemplating the Cello for their child. Seven years since our first lesson with Anna-Marie, and our son still loves the Cello, thanks to the journey he started with her careful tuition.
- Miriam Herlihy (Parent)
"I've enjoyed working with Anna-Marie over many years now. She is an accomplished cellist, a sensitive and intelligent musician, with a generous and positive spirit. She possesses beautiful tonal control on the cello with a relaxed and balanced posture. Anna-Marie's musical experiences and love of teaching, especially young children, will make her a great asset to the musical scene in New Zealand and abroad."
- Dr. Rolf Gjelsten, NZSQ, DMA, MNZM
(Cellist in The New Zealand String Quartet)
I am the brains and the product behind 'The Little Cello Box' I have been playing the cello since a very young age and have always wanted to teach the cello especially to young children. My dream is to share my love and joy of music with all ages 'rarely too young, never too old'. To be mobile means more communities will have the opportunity to explore, discover and grow through the art of music.
Anna-Marie Alloway taught up a storm at Masterton Camp!! 9 April 2015
"My daughter Ella has been playing the cello for eight years and Anna-Marie was her first teacher. Anna- Marie's enthusiasm and patience made every lesson fun and so something to look forward to each week.
We were constantly supported with ideas for practice and opportunities to join cello group classes. theory classes, ensemble and summer camps.
Playing the cello, as a student of Anna-Marie's, is constantly interesting as she has a wonderful ability to motivate and excite her students with games, challenges and new ideas. Nothing is a problem and every student works to fulfil their cello-playing potential in an atmosphere of encouragement.
Anna-Marie continues to be an inspiration, for both myself and Ella, as a cello player and a Suzuki-method cello teacher. I am so pleased to be able to write this in recommendation of her and hope many more budding cellists have the opportunity to learn from someone not only, so technically and pedagogically able, but also so positively supportive ."
Thank you
