Participating in The CENTRAL ITM Big Swim 10^6
Wellington
Our team is my family! Myself, Justin, who started my swim life at 11 years old when the Carterton Indoor Pool first opened in '87. My son Kobe (21), who also started swimming at 11 years old, in the same pool. And my daughter Millie-Rose (2), who first jumped into lessons in the same pool at 6 months and will continue to swim. We all absolutely love the water, the pool and the fitness.
I can only imagine how many hours, we as a family, would've spent at the pool and still do to this day. The pool for us is our Whanaungatanga. The place where our family feel connected and make us strong. It's diving into the water and all your hear is silence. No outside world. Just your thoughts. The weightlessness... Then popping up to hear the angelic voice of Russ telling you to get on with it!
Kobe and I have a lot of great memories of not only the pool but the amazing people involved with the Carterton Pool and the swim club.
We want Millie-Rose to create her own great memories at Carterton Indoor Pool just as we have. So Kobe and I are aiming to swim as many lengths/kilometers as possible for the month of March. Millie-Rose and I will kick a few lengths together as well :-)
Please help us out to raise funds to upgrade the Carterton Indoor Pool, so all Millie-Roses out there can create there own memories. And old people like me (and Kobe now) can continue to grow and use the pool. You can either donate or go old school and pay by the 25m lengths or kilometer which will push us.
