IMAgEN8 2024 fundraiser

IMAgEN8 is a registered charity whose purpose is to nurture a love for nature in our kids through photography. Our workshops and programs are offered at no or very low cost to youth ages 8-18. Since 2019, we have conducted 177+ workshops with 1072+ participants, published 22 books and magazines, hosted 10 exhibitions and have had 39 youth participate in our borrow-a-camera programs.

Our young generation is disconnected from their natural environment, in large part from technology over-use. Rising anxiety and declining mental well-being in our youth, alongside our planet's health, are critical issues for us all. IMAgEN8's programs simultaneously build creative skills, deepen wellbeing, and help protect the environment. We run workshops and programs that directly and successfully build students' artistic photography skills and scientific knowledge of our precious environment.

We receive grants from several Auckland local boards and organisations like Foundation North to offer workshops and specific programs. Some of our school programs are funded by the school like Epsom Normal Primary School. But these grants can't be applied towards operational expenses like website hosting, exhibition space rent, print of photos, insurance etc. All management time is voluntary.

Our annual fundraiser will help us raise funds that will sustain the operations so we can continue to offer our workshops and programs to youth in Auckland.
