Can you help Big Brothers Big Sisters across Aotearoa raise 30k in 30 days?
Wellington
Communities are stronger when the most vulnerable are cared for and supported. We need our community across Aotearoa to support us to run our youth mentoring programme. We match vulnerable children in our communities with a wise, safe and trusted friend as an adult role model. The Big Brothers Big Sisters programme supports positive relationships that are critical to childhood development.
For one hour, once a week our mentors and mentees spend time together sharing hobbies and interests. By simply showing up each week and being themselves, our mentors provide encouragement and promote confidence and build self-belief in young people.
For some of the children in our programme, the weekly interaction with their mentor may be the only time they spend outside their home or school, or are afforded the undivided attention of an adult.
Every dollar donated during our BBBS month of September will be invested straight back into the community, supporting vulnerable tamariki and their whānau.
This is our first ever national appeal and we really need your help!
Here in Wellington we want to raise $5k of our national target.
You only need to give a little, to change a life.

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Wellington leads a youth mentoring programme to enhance the quality of life in children aged 6 to 12 years old by providing a mentor to those who have adverse childhood experiences.
The fund will be spent on running our youth mentoring programme by recruiting, training and support our mentors with their young people
