Help Andrea and Vivienne raise funds to support at-risk children in Wellington through Big Brothers Big Sisters' mentoring programme!
Wellington
Kia ora!
We are Andrea and Vivienne and are participating in this year's Neon Night Walk in Porirua to raise funds for Big Brothers Big Sisters Wellington.
Big Brothers Big Sisters' is the world's leading youth mentoring programme, matching at-risk, vulnerable children aged 6-12 in one-to-one friendships with caring adult mentors on a weekly basis. While BBBS has been operating in New Zealand for 20 years, Wellington hasn't had access to this amazing programme - until now!
We were so excited to hear about the launch of Big Brothers Big Sisters in our city that we have decided to help raise funds to get them on their feet! So, we will be participating in the Neon Night Walk in Porirua on October 27. We will be walking 24km (24 km!!!) to support BBBS Wellington in making their first matches between "bigs" and "littles."
Instilling confidence and hope in at-risk tamariki through adult mentorship is such an important cause to both of us. If we can help just one vulnerable child create a new life then this will be worth it. We whole-heartedly believe in the Big Brothers Big Sisters programme, and would greatly appreciate if you donated to support our cause.
Thank you so much for your support!
Big Brothers Big Sisters of Wellington leads a youth mentoring programme to enhance the quality of life in children aged 6 to 12 years old by providing a mentor to those who have adverse childhood experiences.
These funds will be used to support matches made through Big Brothers Big Sisters.
