Given by 187 generous donors in around 5 months

Our row across the Cook Strait will be symbolic of the resilience, strength, and support needed to live with and overcome mental illness.

Wellington

This is our first fundraising event. In mid-April 2018, we will row from Picton Rowing Club, though Tory Chanel and across the unpredictable Cook Strait to Wellington Rowing Club. We want to show that challenges and obstacles can be tackled more easily and effectively when the struggle is shared between friends and professionals.

The crew rowing across will be

Tina Manker Represented Germany at 2012 Olympics

Johannah Kearney Represented New Zealand at International level

Rachel Gamble-Flint Represented Great Britain at International level

Eleanor Morris Rows for Wellington Rowing Club

Julia Richter Silver Medallist Representing Germany at 2012 Olympics

They will be supported by Tufi Sele, Tim Snedden and Heather Scott on the support boat.

The exact date of the event is weather dependent and will be released closer to the time. The event is planned to happen between 12 April and 16 April.

Info on the postponed row and plans going forward  27 April 2018

We have had to postpone the row across the Cook Strait crossing due to unfavourable sea swell conditions in the Cook Strait. The boat is now back in Wellington for us to use in training. We are watching the weather and sea conditions closely to hopefully make a crossing some time soon. Due to tide times and logistics we will be attempting the crossing from Wellington to Picton, so opposite the originally planned direction. Please watch our Instagram and Facebook pages for updates. We will post the exact date there.

Due to the delay, we have also decided to extend the fundraising period for this particular event.

Thanks for all your support so far. We have been both overwhelmed and humbled by the donations and words of encouragement.
