The Executive Director of International Needs is going to run 50k to feed and educate street children and children in slave labour in Dhaka.
Bay of Plenty
Shaun, the Executive Director of International Needs, is going to run his first (and possibly only) ultra marathon on the 19th of September to raise funds for children on the streets and children in slave labour in Dhaka, Bangladesh.
The money will go to a Drop-in Centre in the city where children can be feed, educated and receive counselling for free. The more money we raise, the more can be helped.
Shaun has also said if we raise over $50,000, he will turn around and redo the race making it 100kms!!
International Needs is a Christian organtisation that empowers local indigenous leaders as they reach their own people in need.
76% of funds will be given to the Drop in Centre for International Needs Bangladesh. 24% of funds will be used for administration for International Needs NZ
Shaun completed the run! Thank you for your support. 20 September 2021
Shaun ran 53km in the end and is very tired. He is so happy about the amount raised for the children in Bangladesh.
Thank you so much for donating to this amazing cause. At least 75 children will be feed, educated and counseled through this centre for a whole year just thanks to the donations in this page. This gives them a real chance to have a future away from severe poverty which they wouldn't have otherwise.
Here is an image of an exhausted but elated Shaun straight after his run.
Thank you to all who came to support him on Saturday.
