Help support Marcus and Rayna as they navigate through this challenging time.
Upper Hutt, Wellington
Marcus and Rayna Deadman were on their first family vacation in Fiji, accompanied by their three children Maia, Joseph, and their youngest, 7-week-old Kora. However, as their trip neared its end, a heart-wrenching situation unfolded, plunging them into a parent's worst nightmare: one of their children fell ill in a foreign country. Kora was urgently hospitalized with suspected meningitis.
After hearing this news Helen (Marcus' mum) and Judy (my mum) caught the next flight to Fiji to support them and their children as they navigate the Fijian health system and help determine their next steps.
Given the many uncertainties ahead, I have created this page with the intention of alleviating some of the financial challenges they may face. By providing this support, the goal is for them to be able to wholeheartedly concentrate on the well-being of their children during this challenging time.
Marcus and I grew up together in our local church and he's been a family friend for many years. Marcus has worked for my Dad for over a decade and our relationship grew as he spent the last 18 months renovating our family home.
The money raised will go towards any medical bills and support through financial hardship.
