Kids N Gigs 2023 (please follow link above for new 2024 page!)

I am a Support Worker for at-risk youth in West Auckland. The young people I help come from a variety of backgrounds resulting in them not attending mainstream education. Our youth may have backgrounds of anxiety, poverty, trauma and neglect etc. We provide art tutoring as a positive in their lives and I want to be able to provide experiences around music. Our youth cannot afford to buy concert tickets despite music being a big part of their lives. I hope to reward their hard work in the art studio with opportunities to attend gigs performed by their musical heroes. With concert prices for major artists costing between $100-$250, most of our young people have never experienced a gig let alone a large concert. This would be such a positive in their lives and used as a reward for positive hard work.
