Kids N Gigs
Helping at-risk kids access live music for wellbeing and inclusivity.

We all love and enjoy live music, but not everyone has the privilege of accessing it. I support at-risk youth in West Auckland. Music plays a big part in their lives and in youth culture but obstacles like poverty, trauma, marginalisation and lack of support excludes these kids from being able to attend gigs. This fund aims to change this imbalance and is all about inclusivity and engaging at-risk youth with the positivity and wellbeing that live music brings and that everyone deserves. The impacts are positive and powerful.

Laughter IS the Best Medicine! 20 June 2025
It turns out gigs can be comedy too. Someone asked would any of the Kids N Gigs rangatahi like to go to see Jo Koy at Spark? None of these guys had been to a comedy show, let alone an international artist in a big venue! When a mum who picked them up commented how great it was to see them belly-laughing, big warm fuzzies all round. We get very few donations in $ (as you can see) so I do a lot of begging favours of kind people in the music industry. If you can, give a $, each bit counts and brings respite from stressful lives and inclusivity to marginalised kids. Massive gratitude from the kids for whom it makes a difference. X
