A chance for recovery after 5 years of anorexia!

An amazing eating disorders rehab is opening in Christchurch this year. Olivia has now been struggling with Anorexia w/ purging behavior's for the last 5 years; starting at age 13. This place called Recovered Living gives her and other kiwi's like her a chance for appropriate specialist treatment. She is now struggling with the long term consequences of severe restriction and purging and gets by on fortnightly GP visits. We have tried everything and have run out of options. The opportunity for Olivia to go to Recovered Living has given her hope and is something she would desperately love to have the opportunity to go to.

She struggles with multiple diagnoses and as such has fallen through the cracks, being called a complex case by many doctors and psychologists. We cannot afford private treatment on our own. She has had an assessment for Recovered Living and they feel confident they can help her and have offered us a subsidy but it is still far out of our reach.

I have watched my daughter try and fight but unfortunately it is to great a task on our own. She is currently on a disability benefit for her mental illness and the ongoing medical issues caused by her anorexia which breaks my heart because of all of the goals and experiences she is missing out on. We want her to be able to be the independent girl that she once was again.
