Aaliyahs leukaemia journey
Balclutha, Otago
Aaliyah was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukaemia on 5 March 2025. Her mum, dad, step-mum, step-dad and little sister are all currently staying in Christchurch to support her for the next month through her first lot of treatment starting Monday 10 March.
Aaliyah is a beautiful, bubbly, happy little girl, and we want to be able to keep her family close to her during this time so Leah can have that support around her, and her parents can have their supports too❤️
Aaliyah is potentially looking at 2.5 years of treatment with month long trips to Christchurch for these. Any support for her whānau would be greatly appreciated so they can all spend as much time with her during this time.
The beneficiaries are my sister Emma, Aaliyahs step-dad Connor, Aaliyahs father Nee, and Aaliyahs step-mum Jordan

Aaliyahs next cycle. 13 November 2025
Aaliyah has just finished her month of immunotherapy and has enjoyed having some energy back and even managed to get back to school for a few days!
Last week Aaliyah was meant to start her next chemo cycle but unfortunately her blood counts were not high enough to start. This week her counts had improved and she started her 4th 8 week round on Wednesday. The first day was a big one for her with lots of chemo but she has taken it like a champ as always.
Aaliyah has had a great few days full of love welcoming her new baby brother into the world with her dad Nikora and step Mum Jordan, and has a new best friend to keep her company, Rosie the sausage dog!
This next cycle is very intense and is “the last big push” to fight this leukaemia.
Thank you to everyone who is keeping Aaliyah in their thoughts and checking in on us and helping, it means the world to us all.
