Hi, I'm Cameron! I'm 7 years old and I was born with cerebral palsy. I need a new special car for my family and me, so I can get to school!
Nationwide
A while ago, my family bought a car that would fit my wheelchair and allow us to travel to my school, to my horse riding lessons and my swimming classes. It was great!
But, it was very bad news when the car broke down indefinitely and we were left without transport. It is very expensive to fix, so it's our goal to save for a new one.
So we need your help if you are willing to read our story and donate if you can.
I have a family of seven, and now we all use a family member's van. It's hard because there is so many of us to get around, and we struggle to co-ordinate with one car!
Most importantly, the van doesn't have a chair lift. So mum and grandma lift me into my car seat, and put my wheelchair in the boot (which is a bit of a squeeze!). As I am growing bigger, this will be really hard to continue as my mum and grandma do it every day.
I love my family and I love going to school, so having a car and the right car is important. If you look at my photos, you can see I'm a very happy boy and I enjoy going swimming and horse riding at Riding for the Disabled. I get a ride with my friend from school in his van so I can go horse riding. But, since swimming is after school, I haven't been able to go for a long time.
So please consider donating to my family cause to save for a new car. It would mean so much to me so I can stay involved and do my favourite things!
A Big Thank You! 9 April 2015
Hello everyone, firstly, Cameron's family would like to thank everyone for their great generosity and for raising the amount we have so far! It is unbelievable and they thank you from the bottom of their hearts!
Although, we must share some bad news. The car that Cameron's family are currently using broke down yesterday (the white family car). So now, we have no transport at all, and it's the middle of the school holidays! So now we are even more in need of extra help and your donations will help. The amount we have so far will be used towards the repairs of this car, and we have also extended our Give a Little page so we can keep raising for our ultimate goal of buying $25,000 mobility van with an approved hoist.
Moreover, Cameron has been doing exceptionally well at school and he has been learning new words very fast. He is able to tell a story all by himself, and does his best in all his lessons. Let's keep Cameron in school by helping his family get a van so he can get to school everyday and continue his education and improvement.
Once again thank you for donating and even just reading our story to see how you can help. You are a good hearted person and we admire you.
