A 3,000 KM Walk for NZ's Youth

$7,335 of $50,000 goal
Given by 35 generous donors in around 9 months

I am supporting teenagers who are less fortunate in life, to hopefully help them achieve their future goals.

Auckland

Thanks for taking the time to see what crazy adventure I’m about to get myself into. For those of you who don’t know me, I’m Amber, nothing to exciting about me, I’m a mum of two adult children that loves life and loves doing what I can to help others.

Recently, due to a work related health issue, I decided to quit my job as a theatre nurse and take some time out. I decided that while unemployed I would like to raise funds for disadvantaged teenagers and help to make a difference in their lives.

Now, for those of you that know me well, know that I don't do anything by halves, so keeping true to form, I decided a fundraising event where I walk the length of New Zealand by completing the Te Araroa Trail (www.teararoa.org.nz) was the best way to achieve my goal. You can follow my progress through my Facebook Page - www.fb.me/WalkingAmber

I would really like to raise as many funds as possible, so please spread the word and lets see what a difference we can make. The funds raised, will be used in a variety of ways to assist the students at Vanguard Military School. An exceptional school, doing amazing things for disadvantaged teens to enable them to achieve excellence in life.

You are probably wondering why I chose to support disadvantaged teenagers, well why not? They are our future and from seeing first hand over the years the internal struggles they battle and how detrimental it can be to their mental health and physical health, I think it is a pretty valid and worthy cause. So much so, that I’m prepared to destroy myself and walk 3,000 km.

This is all the more reason why I am grateful that you have decided to have a look at what I’m doing and support me in my craziness so we can together do some feel good stuff for our future generation.

Thank you for supporting me, please follow my progress from the 1st February 2021 through my Facebook event page www.fb.me/WalkingAmber where you will be able to see regular updates and pictures of my journey.

Extended givealittle page  4 July 2021

Nothing to exciting, just that I’ve extended the givealittle end date. As many of you know, I had intended on having my walk finished by now, but due to my knee injury it’s still a work in progress and being winter now makes things that little harder to be in remote areas. I intend on completing this in the summer months : )
