Let's give Andrew and Emma some support while they recover

Nationwide

Over a week ago I read an article in the news about a four car accident at Pine Acres. I didn't know at this point who was involved, but I sure felt sorry for the guy who did all that work on that 1970's Ford Falcon that was on the way to the Hop Festival in Kaikoura. I read later in the week that it involved Andrew Robertson, his wife Emma and their 8 month old daughter, Lucy. Andrew and I were in the same year at Hillmorton and he was a well respected guy with a great sense of humour and never said a bad word about anyone. Reading the article I found that Andrew had the greatest love for his family on his mind and had new seatbelts installed in the backseat of the car. This is what saved his wife and child's life in the car accident as the impact of the crash was on passenger's side. As per the article, Emma suffered from a broken and dislocated ankle, compound fractured tibia and fibula, broken pelvis, dislocated hip, broken humerus, broken cheek bone and injured knee. She is expected to spend 3 weeks in hospital and the long recovery afterwards. Andrew landed up with a shiner on his snozzer and a cracked knee cap and no doubt some major whiplash and shock. I can imagine him in a some sort of leg support and physio for a long time as well. Their daughter from what I understand is healthy & well. As you can understanding, it's going to be very hard with an unwell Emma to look after their dot and Andrew would probably either be off work or light duties until he has completely recovered. This is where WE step in... I have opened this account so we can make a donation for Andrew & Emma to keep going while they recover from their injuries. How they spend it, is up to them. I hope you all can contribute as little or as much as you feel. I'm sure it would make their Summer a little more relaxing.

2% Effective Fee
On average, fundraisers pay just 2% to use Givealittle. This is one of the lowest effective fees in New Zealand fundraising. We charge a 5% platform fee to cover the cost of running the platform. Because most donors choose to top up their donation to cover this fee, the effective cost paid by fundraisers is about 2%. That means around 98 cents of every dollar raised goes to the cause.
