Animal Re-homing Needs A Vehicle

$15,450 of $20,000 goal
Given by 134 generous donors in around 7 months

We desperately need a replacement vehicle to continue our animal rescue work.

UPDATE :-) :-) :-)

Fantastic news! We have reached our goal. Between Givealittle donations and the contributions by cash, cheque and direct deposits to our account, we have raised the $20,000.

Huge thanks to every single individual, couple, family, organisation and animal for making this possible. And special thanks to Givealittle for providing this service at no cost whatsoever.

Animal Re-homing can now continue its work with confidence...

Our dear old car has finally given up after more than two decades of loyal service.

And no wonder! She has transported literally thousands of at-risk animals; she has bumped over rough landscapes to rescue geese, peafowl and chickens; she has taken carloads of volunteers to protests and rallies; she has made endless trips to various vet clinics & specialists around Auckland; she has delivered animals to their new homes up and down the North Island; she has carried food, bales of hay & equipment to fosterers, boarding kennels & catteries; she has taken us to meetings and public presentations with councils, community groups, individuals and the SPCA Cat Coalition; she has collected animal groceries and donations of food parcels; she has transported chickens, calves, pigs, sheep, dogs, cats, rabbits, hedgehogs, rats, mice, guinea-pigs, hundreds of ex-battery hens, peafowl, ducks, geese and many other bird species.

Poor old Gertrude has finally worn out and is well due a retirement from her hard labours - and we have been struggling without air conditioning and other essential rescue features.

We now urgently require a vehicle with these specific features:

Automatic transmission, late model, good fuel economy, roof low enough to secure rescue traps, low to the ground for old and injured animals, big enough interior for large crates, towing ability for horse floats & trailers, air conditioned for long journeys with animals, preferably 4WD or traction control for rural rescues, non leather interior.

Please help us to buy a reliable station wagon to continue our animal rescue work. Huge thanks in advance to everyone who supports our fundraiser and forwards our plea to their friends, family and colleagues :-)
