Aroha Mai Aroha Atu Christmas Gift Drive 2021

Aroha Afternoons and Voice of Aroha are collecting new, unwrapped Christmas presents for children of refugee background and families who are unable to afford to give gifts around Porirua and Greater Wellington Region. Many children enter into emergency service facilities or accommodation during the Christmas period and those families from refugee background might be their first Christmas in Aotearoa and we would love your support. Sadly the festive season is a peak time for children from lower socio-economic background to feel the financial strain which means buying children gifts might be a lower priority to families in these communities.

Our aim is to bring a little bit of sunshine and hope to our most vulnerable children when often hope is lost and grief from being displaced and stress and anxiety that invade their little lives. While our official cut-off date is the 23th of December, it would be wonderful to have the bulk of the presents as soon as possible especially this last weekend of shopping in December. This will give us time to distribute them to the families by the 24th of December.
