Help us pay Ashas vet bills so she can live out her retirement in comfort and happiness
Auckland
Asha is a sweet old lady who, through tragic circumstances out of her owners control, ended up without a home. So one of our team, and the amazing Melanie from Franklin Cat Rescue, rushed off to the property to see how we could help.
Once we met her and realised her situation, we rushed her off to the vet, and we discovered she is around 15 years old, and had some injuries/illnesses that needed attention straight away.
She had ticks, fleas, worms, a bladder infection, and a tumour on her eye.
Despite all of this, she has the sweetest, most loving nature, and loves to follow her fosterer everywhere. Since being in foster care, she has learnt about the beach, going for walks, and food, glorious food! And car rides. There is NOTHING she loves more than going in the car!
We decided that since she was off to a new beginning, she needed a new name. So we called her Asha, which means Hope.
We are now asking for help to pay for Asha's vet bills we have incurred up till now, as all of these health issues are starting to pile up.
Every $1 counts, and we appreciate you helping us. Thank you!
Any money that is raised over the amount required will be used for any ongoing treatment she may require.
This situation doesn't end here. There are also over 30 cats on the property that need trapping, and desexing. Please consider giving to Franklin Cat Rescue so they are able to get these cats helped as soon as possible.
We are involved in this as we couldn't see a dog "written off" purely because she is getting on in years. Our aim is to allow her to live out her retirement with a family who will give her the love and happiness she deserves.
The Chained Dog Awareness NZ Trust was created in 2001 to inform people of the increasing number of dogs that are permanently chained or locked away and for whom existence is a living hell.
We ensure that someone speaks up for them and we attempt to alleviate their suffering. We ultimately wish to see a total ban on life-chaining in New Zealand.
