Help Us Raise $100,000 for Baby Bird Season

BirdCare Aotearoa’s nursery is already welcoming the first arrivals of the season. Every spring and summer, hundreds of orphaned and injured baby birds from across Tāmaki Makaurau depend on us for round-the-clock care, feeding, and rehabilitation and then release back into the wild

Use of funds

* $2 Gloves

* $5 A dose of pain relief

* $20 Provides nutritious feeds, progressing from tube-fed chowder to solid marinara

* $50 Water and heating, for each patient's daily swim therapy and health checks

* $250 Sponsors a patient's recovery!

About us

BirdCare Aotearoa is a bird hospital and rehabilitation centre, providing expert care and rehabilitation for sick, injured, and orphaned native and endemic species. Our compassionate services extend to public rescuers, and in training upcoming vet talent!

Use of funds

covering costs like specialist food, round-the-clock heating and housing, veterinary care, and staff to hand-rear and rehabilitate hundreds of orphaned and injured chicks until they are ready to return to the wild.

Remember the tiny 7g Warou Welcome swallows- rescued from Waiuku? Well, they have passed all their developmental health checks- with flying colours.

Our amazing volunteers Mali and and Camila have been learning to care for these Warou, starting off with delicate syringe-feeds, until they learned to forage on their own.

What a special moment, returning these healthy swallows back to the skies.
