Blake's journey & hope to return to NZ
Canterbury
This is Blake, he is the man that has devoted his life to farming, family and friends. He is the man that is always there when you need him. He is the man proudly raising his 3 little girls (7, 8, 10). He is the man who has supported his wife through all of her poor health. He is everyone's go to man. He is 30 years old and now facing his biggest challenge.
On 22-23/04/2026 Blake had a seizure and went into hospital via ambulance where we then found out he had a 4cm x 3cm x 3cm brain tumour.
He was flown to New Castle on 24/04/2026 (5 hours from our current home) and operated on where they removed and tested his tumour on 29/04/2026.
On 02/05/2026 he was discharged from hospital under the care of his wife and remained on seizure medication awaiting results.
On 04/05/2026 our daughters were flown back to NZ to avoid experiencing further trauma while their idolised dad was unwell and needing to recover.
On 07/05/2026 he received the call that he is facing a Grade 3 brain tumour and it is malignant (cancerous).
We are awaiting radiology and oncology for treatment plans.
Blake is currently residing in Australia, he belongs to New Zealand and he needs to return home to his little girls as well as for treatment and support from his family and friends.
This has all evidently turned our family's lives upside down, we are people who normally help others but we have decided to put our situation out there in the hope that some kind person may be able to lend a helping hand.
I am Blake's wife of 10 years.
Sending Blake from Australia back to New Zealand for support from friends and family as well as any unconfirmed/unexpected medical costs or bills (Blake normally works and pays our bills and Amber is his carer) or transport needs to get to treatment.

Blake had his stitches removed on Monday.
We had the radiology oncologist appointment today.
We know that the tumour was a Grade 3 Glial tumour its coming from Astrocytes.
This is brain cancer there is no stage 1-4 just grades.
He has IDH mutations which is a good thing.
Blake has a good performance score.
There was a good resection of the tumour and brain.
The cancer is a microscopic disease.
He will start radiation treatment in the next 2 or so weeks daily for 5-6 weeks.
Followed up with chemo tablets afterwards.
Followups of clinical and imaging with imaging likely to be 3 monthly.
Remain on seizure meds.
Driving to be reassessed after 6 months post surgery with no seizures.
Please if you are in contact with our girls remember they do not know about the cancer, they just know dad had a lump removed from his brain and he needs time to recover and heal. We will talk to them when the time is right but they are still settling in to their temporary life currently.
Once our plans and timeframes are properly in place we can start making our bookings to come home, we are hoping to find a house over in NZ by the time we do return, it is tracking for end of July/early August at this stage.
