We are looking for financial support to help run our community projects to educate and help young people affected by sexual violence.

Manawatu / Whanganui

As part of her Miss World NZ Beauty With a Purpose charity project, Jess Tyson is looking for financial support to help her run her projects within her youth organisation, Brave, to educate and help young people affected by sexual violence.

THE PURPOSE OF BRAVE

To raise awareness about sexual violence among youth in Aotearoa and provide the appropriate tools and support to young people affected by sexual harm.

1 out of 3 girls may be sexually abused before she turns 16 years old. Most of this abuse will be done by someone she knows. 1 in 7 boys may be sexually abused by adulthood. Young people are statistically at the highest risk of sexual assault; the age group 16-24 years being at the highest risk of sexual assault in any age group - Rape Prevention Education

OUR VISION

We want to see all young New Zealanders feel empowered and brave enough to ask for help if they have been affected by sexual harm in any way. We would also like to see the stigma around sexual violence disappear so that the topic can be talked about more freely within our communities.

WHERE YOUR FUNDS GO

Funds will go towards running projects by Jess and her team to educate and support young people affected by sexual harm.

Some of our expenses are listed below:

* Digital resources - Such as filming and video production to hep promote our messages during school visits and online via our website and social media pages.

* Computer equipment - To help display slideshow presentations to students during school visits.

* Educational resources - For students such as reading material and other information to be given out during school visits.

* Travel expenses - When our team travels out of town for school visits.
