Petone Pick and Mix Multisport Event - the Brent Harrison Thank You!!

Historically, Wellington has had an awesome outdoors scene with a huge following of tramping, multisport and adventure racing. Aside from producing some great athletes and fostering great adventures, the Wellington area has benefitted from a number of home-grown events, supported by many in the local retailing industry. As an outdoors community we were lucky to have the support of industry with the likes of bike shops, sports shops etc. donating or discounting products and services for spot prizes and podium prizes.

One of those (now former) sport shop owners was Brent Harrison. Brent is well into retirement age and is suffering ill health. As a sport shop owner Brent was a key contributor to the Wellington multisport, adventure racing, tramping and climbing scene. He not only often donated and discounted products for sports events and teams, he even employed athletes on a basis that they could continue to progress with their chosen support, comforted by the fact that they had employment and income.

The Petone Pick and Mix Multisport Event is both a fundraiser for, and a thank you to Brent Harrison for his service to our sport and our adventures over the years.
