Raising money to honour Dominic and his wishes

Dominic (aka Tolkien, Brother D, Abbo or simply Dom) is a brother, son, uncle, friend, kiwi, role model and inspiration.

He left New Zealand on his own accord to courageously fight for the freedom of the Ukrainian people. Our Dominic gave his life for what he believed was right; he is the ultimate example of bravery and determination. Nothing will ever fill the hole in our lives that he has left behind.

His heart stopped beating on Ukrainian soil in the middle of warfare and we have heard there have been many efforts to retrieve his body. Our family was informed when they do get him we will be charged with the cost of bringing him home. That cost is much larger than we expected. We have decided to create this page to provide an avenue if anyone felt the desire to help with the costs involved in this. It would be an incredible help and lift a little worry off our already burdened shoulders.

When we created this page a while ago, we paused it because we have been considering the reality of retrieving Dominic. As it turns out this is more difficult that expected and he might never return.

In his last interview Dominic expressed the importance of supporting Ukraine at this time. He said you can see the difference it makes. The more support, the better chance they have. So to honour his wish, once expenses for Dominic's return are paid, all money raised will be donated to help support humanitarian aid in Ukraine.
