KIWI K.A.R.E UKRAINE - Kiwi Aid & Refugee Evacuation

$716,706 of $750,000 goal
Given by 2035 generous donors in 3 years

KIWI K.A.R.E is providing critical Aid and Refugee Evacuation services to the people of Ukraine.

The people of Ukraine are under siege. Help us do what Kiwi's do best: use our practical skills and can-do attitude to make a positive difference.

Fourteen million Ukrainians have been displaced, with half this number believed to be internally displaced within Ukraine. Many are unable to get away from the suffering and trauma of constant attacks.

KIWI K.A.R.E (Kiwi Aid & Refugee Evacuation) needs to raise money to fund vehicles, and purchase supplies and equipment to run a 24-month operation.

We are delivering food, sanitary products for women, nappies, toys for children, medicine and medical equipment, trauma kits and defibrillators, pet supplies (for the thousands of displaced animals) and much more.

We are also providing evacuation services for Internally Displaced Persons (IDP’s) from troubled areas.

KIWI K.A.R.E is a registered New Zealand Charitable Organisation and is led by Tenby Powell. With over three decades of military service in the NZ Army, a successful business career and service on government boards, Tenby is funding his own way while in situ in Ukraine and now seeks help with sustainable funding for Kiwi K.A.R.E.

“Many have lost everything. The supplies we deliver are essential for those remaining in Ukraine and for those we assist with evacuation. Without a new van the entire operation stops. We travel thousands of kilometres each week and we need to maintain this high operational tempo.”

Thank you for your generous support.

Kiwi K.A.R.E's involvement (page creator)

Kiwi K.A.R.E (Kiwi Aid & Refugee Evacuation) is operating in Ukraine delivering essential supplies and evacuating civilians from dangerous areas.

About us

Kiwi K.A.R.E. is a ‘last mile‘ Humanitarian and Medical Aid organisation in that we operate almost exclusively in the Red Zones (the newly liberated areas and those towns and villages behind the Zero Line), delivering directly to front line hospitals and medical centres, and to residents who have remained in situ. As our name implies, we also conduct evacuations, including occasional long-haul evacs.

Use of funds

Money raised will go directly on operations, the establishment of a HQ, purchase of a van to deliver much needed goods, food, medicine - and to provide evacuations. No money will be used to fund administration or team wages; we are covering our own costs.

Four new Ambulances for the Kiwi K.A.R.E Road-of-Life fleet,  9 December 2025

Hi everyone,

I trust the New Zealand summer has arrived and you are enjoying the festive season leading to Christmas.

Winter has arrived in Ukraine, although no snow yet. Thanks to your support, our fabrication teams have been making stoves and water boilers by the hundreds each month.

We have recently opened a new workshop in Kharkiv and I’ll send information on that next week.

In the meantime, due to extraordinary demand that we predict will not diminish anytime soon, we have added four new ambulances to our Road-of-Life fleet, including a smaller one - a Renault Trafic - with a lower profile for drone infested areas.

I spent 5 days in the Kherson Oblast recently, and it is very open and exposed. It is in this area that we lost an ambulance to a drone attack in July. So we hope the smaller Renault Trafic will reduce the optic while still being able to conductive effective evacuation services.

As always, thank you for your incredible support and encouragement.
