KIWI K.A.R.E is providing critical Aid and Refugee Evacuation services to the people of Ukraine.
The people of Ukraine have been under siege since the full scale war started in February 2022.
Please help us do what Kiwi's do best: use our practical skills and can-do attitude to make a positive difference.
Millions of Ukrainians have been displaced with many internally displaced within Ukraine. Many are unable to get away from the trauma of constant attacks on power and water infrastructure, and city residences.
KIWI K.A.R.E has been conducting humanitarian operations in Ukraine since May 2022 and has three well established work-streams:
1. Road-of-Life: conducting civilian evacuations and patient transfers from behind the frontlines. 7000 people evacuated as of May 2026.
2. Heat-for-Health: the fabrication and distribution of stoves and water boilers made from unserviceable electrical water cylinders. 8000 units distributed as of May 2026.
3. General Humanitarian & Medical Aid Distribution: As of May 2026, Kiwi K.A.R.E has procured and distributed hundreds of tonnes of aid.
To keep the wheels of aid, evacuations and fabrication rolling, we need to continue to fund our operation.
KIWI K.A.R.E is a registered New Zealand Charitable Organisation led by Tenby Powell. With over three decades of service in the NZ Army, a successful business career and service on government boards, Tenby has funded his own way while in situ in Ukraine and seeks continued help with sustainable funding for Kiwi K.A.R.E until the full scale war ends in a just peace for Ukraine.
Kiwi K.A.R.E (Kiwi Aid & Refugee Evacuation) is operating in Ukraine delivering essential supplies and evacuating civilians from dangerous areas.
Kiwi K.A.R.E. is a ‘last mile‘ Humanitarian and Medical Aid organisation in that we operate almost exclusively in the Red Zones (the newly liberated areas and those towns and villages behind the Zero Line), delivering directly to front line hospitals and medical centres, and to residents who have remained in situ. As our name implies, we also conduct evacuations, including occasional long-haul evacs.
Money raised will go directly on operations, the establishment of a HQ, purchase of a van to deliver much needed goods, food, medicine - and to provide evacuations. No money will be used to fund administration or team wages; we are covering our own costs.
Russia Is Hunting Civilians in Kramatorsk 14 September 2026
Dear friends - my fifth Tour of Duty has been marked by significant operational challenges.
We’ve had a rough time recently with 3 more vehicles destroyed in the frontline city of Kramatorsk, in the Donetsk region, including an armoured ambulance. That’s now 11 vehicles hit with 5 destroyed including 3 ambulances (the other 8 were vans and evac cars).
While the Ukrainian military are doing a sterling job upfront, it’s pretty grim in the Grey / Red Zones for defenceless med / humanitarian services. Ditto in the cities which are also mostly defenceless against ballistic and cruise missiles without Patriot interceptors, and the new jet powered Shahed drones are a lot faster and consequently harder to shoot down.
On a more positive note, we have 6 ambulances on the water. They have left Singapore en route to Europe and, all going well, we will have them in Kyiv by late Oct.
Below is a link to my OpEd on the realities of life in Kramatorsk, which was published in the Kyiv Post on Saturday 12 Sep. It’s time to tell it like it really is and I do so here: https://share.google/3z6XhxODX8q5L2ghb
I want you to know that, because of your support, we are saving lives and helping people breathe easier knowing that we are coming to support them.
Thank you! 💙💛

Thank you for supporting Kiwi K.A.R.E to keep the humanitarian wheels rolling, the aid moving forward, and stoves being produced for those most in need. 💙💛
Thank you, Pip. Without your generous support, Kiwi K.A.R.E. would not be able to provide humanitarian and medical aid support, conduct evacuations, or fabricate the stoves and water heaters. You have our heartfelt thanks. 💙💛
Thank you, Judith, for supporting Kiwi K.A.R.E to keep the humanitarian wheels rolling, the aid moving forward, and stoves being produced for those most in need. 💙💛
