Save the Women's Shed Queenstown - it's time to build our own Shed!

$3,830 of $50,000 goal
Given by 41 generous donors in 5 weeks

Women’s Shed Aotearoa (WSA) is a registered charity that exists to bring Queenstown women together in tool-workshops and community spaces.

Otago, Queenstown Lakes District

At the Women's Shed, we reckon women can do anything blokes can - sometimes they just need the opportunity and encouragement to give it a go. We are a registered charity offering a friendly, no-judgement space where women can pick up tools, build their confidence, and learn practical skills together.

For the last 2 years, we've been running beginner and intermediate workshops in a borrowed workshop space - with over 450 wāhine coming through our doors!

🚨 BUT our lease is ending soon! We desperately need a new home to meet the sustained demand for our courses, expand our offering to work with young and marginalised people, create pathways into trades, and create a drop in space for all local women to come in and get on the tools.

And what better way than to build our own Shed! 💪

We have found a new home at Country Lane in Frankton, and need to begin building early 2026. We have local funders onboard to support the project, but we are still going to be just shy of our target.

That's why we turning to our local community for support.

Every dollar counts to make our new Shed a reality! 🙏

And for those who are able to dig a little deeper to make this collective dream come true:

$500+ You’ll receive a personal thank-you and updates as the build progresses.

$1,000+ You'll be invited to our launch celebration and acknowledged as key supporters.

$2,500+ You'll get naming recognition (with your approval) and a personal visit or update from the team.

About us

At Women's Shed Queenstown, we reckon women can do anything blokes can, sometimes they just need the opportunity and encouragement to give it a go. We are a registered charity and offer workshops and a welcoming space for women to learn how to use tools.

Use of funds

Funds will be spent on the build and fit out of Queenstown’s very own Women’s Shed. We require additional contributions to secure further funding. This dedicated space supports our kaupapa, to continue providing workshop space for the wahine of Queenstown.
