Cancer treatment for elderly stray cat
Raising funds to give an elderly stray cat another shot at life.

Hi team, we have an elderly stray cat that found its way to our home in Glen Eden, Auckland. Efforts to find its owner through Facebook lost pets groups and community pages have been unsuccessful. Unfortunately the old fellow is not chipped and most likely was dumped in the area by his owners.
The old chap (now called Freddie) is pretty scrawny and the vet confirmed that he has cancer in his nose as well as hyper thyroid. The vet suggested that the cancer may be treatable but he will need to be on daily meds for his thyroid issues. The alternative is to put him down so he doesn’t suffer which I don’t feel is right.
I can sort the thyroid meds but I need your support for the cancer treatment to give this old fellow another shot at life.
Use of funds
The vet quoted the cancer treatment to cost around $1000, and the cat will be needing to be on daily meds for his thyroid for the rest of his life which will cost another $60 per month. Will provide receipts from the vet to confirm.

Freddy progress update 4 March 2024
Hi team, Freddy seems to be doing a lot better with meds and a regular diet. He has put on weight, looks much tidier and has become best mates with my toddler.
