Christmas in Takaro - a family friendly event to celebrate the festive season in the western suburbs. Free food, concert, and activities.

Christmas in Takaro began in 2015 and was generously supported by the Palmerston North City Council, Central Energy Trust, and a number of other sponsors and community groups.

Christmas in Takaro is a family focussed community event which celebrates Christmas and the cultural diversity of the area.

The Western Suburbs of Palmerston North benefit greatly from family friendly, positive events and we need your support to make this event a huge success!

In 2016 we will again have free food, including hangi, and other healthy options for the whole whanau.

2016 will see a fabulous line up of acts showcased including kapa haka, pasifika items, band, solo acts, dance, and choir/carols.

We hope to raise additional funds to help cover some of the event costs.

Legacy are the lead organisation for this event, however we have several other groups partnering with us to make this a great success for our local community.

About us

Legacy Centre is a Christian community centre that has a vision to bring spiritual, social, and economic transformation to Palmerston North by helping the most broken and needy. Earlier this year the Palmerston North Police said that 5 percent of our community causes about 80 percent of the problems. Our vision is to change our whole city by helping the most broken and needy people in our city.
