Please help us as we continue to reach out to the community teaching them to sew on our beautiful vintage machines.
Wellington
We are a Working Vintage Sewing Machine Museum where all are welcome to come in and use my collection of handcranked, treadled and electric sewing machines in a lovely, welcoming and homely atmosphere using donated fabric, patterns and notions.
Payment is by koha which generally pays for materials use and also to provide sustenance for those who are welcomed into the lovely Rose Cottage where we are open on Weekdays and the 1st Saturday of every month.
Men, Women and children of all ages and abilities have and continue to benefit from coming to sew with me where they regain self worth as they tap into their creative ability in learning a new craft.
The difficulty we have is in paying for the rent and though we are assured that we will eventually receive funding we are finding this difficult and meanwhile the rent still needs to be paid
We have a Working Sewing Machine Museum where all are welcomed to see and sew on my vintage machines with tuition and encouragement
Funds will be used to pay the rent which is $1,000 per month until regular funding can be found. Any excess will be used in the running of the museum.
