Commemorative Seat for our Friend, Faith

Last October we sadly said goodbye to our dear friend Faith Dennis, who suffered a 7 year battle with Leukaemia.

She was diagnosed in her first trimester of pregnancy to her precious boy Rémy. She lived to see his 6th birthday but devastatingly her cancer returned and at the age of 42 years, there was very little that could be done.

A true warrior, avid mountain biker, and loyal friend with a sharp sense of humour, she was a truly remarkable woman and is deeply missed.

Faith remained stoic and relatively private through her battle with leukaemia. She loved mountain biking and over the years helped maintain many of the trails around Wellington. She was also a committed Revolve Ride Guide and Committee Member. I’m sure she would have given a nod of approval for a seat in her honour to rest, reflect, admire the view and be reminded “what a privilege it is to be alive”. Maybe in the years to come it can be place for Rémy to feel a connection with his Mum.

If you would like to make this seat possible, a donation would be greatly appreciated. It’s planned for a fantastic spot on T4 trail at Makara mountain bike park, one of the main tracks up to the top of Makara Peak and will be a real asset for bikers and walkers alike.
